Origins
Etymology of the Gods
A significant portion of the Mernae lexicon is rooted in the names and domains of the Gods of Adenesa. The gods were not merely worshipped - they were the conceptual foundation of the language itself. When the Mer named the things they observed in the world, they named them after the divine force they believed governed them. Speaking Mernae is itself a form of worship; every word that carries a divine root is a small invocation of the god behind it.
Ashe - Goddess of Death

Ashrae (lethal, deadly) is drawn from Ashe's domain.
Hyldri - God of Life
Domain: Life, Healing, Renewal
The root Hyld appears in Hyln (to offer, give - the gift of life).
